PARISH NURSE MINISTRY

Grace Lutheran’s team of  Parish Nurses are registered professional nurses who focus their nursing practice in a faith community, promoting health and healing, by caring for the mind, body and spirit.  The functions of a Parish Nurse are:

·         Integrator of faith and health

o   Health Counselor – available to discuss health concerns of any nature

o   Educator – provides information about maintaining one’s health

o   Advocate – identifies and assist members who need support to navigate the health care system

o   Referral Source – serves as a liaison between patient and health care community and assists with referrals.

o   Trainer – organize, train and supervise groups within the congregation to help maintain the health of the congregation.
